So now I have your attention with the cute puppy picture I’d like to discuss a subject that is sort of about the puppy. It’s about lunchtimes. Here at Created I am like millions of other workers & take my lunch at my desk between tasks. I eat with an ear for the shop door opening & half expect to be interrupted. This means that I avoid anything that might be warmed up before eating as often it will have warmed down to cold before I can get to eat it. But hey ho, that’s just how it is.

Then people started asking me if I close for lunch. No, no I replied. And gave it no more thought. (Wait for it, the cute puppy is coming shortly.) In January I started to bring our old lady dog, Lucy to work with me. She has met some of you as she sprints past me to greet you when the door bell sounds. This belies the fact that she is nearly 13 & needs more frequent trips out to nearby patches of grass. Clare is very helpful & pops out with Lucy while I make her a cuppa and before we have a chat/update/planning meeting during the daytime. (Nearly at the puppy bit now.) All is going well & everyone is happy. As my family know, this is when I am at my most dangerous…. I am getting a new dog. (Yes, its here, the puppy bit.)

We will shortly be having a new dog who is coming in puppy form for the next year or so. He is to be called Bertie & yes, that’s him in the photo. A miniature Schnoodle. To all those who are saying why not a rescue dog, well I could have but I didn’t. The same answer to those who are saying why not a pedigree. I fell in love with this one first.

Which brings me to the idea of ‘Closed for Lunch’. We have a period between 1.30 & 2.00pm when it is very quiet. It is when I usually try to take my lunch but I’m wondering if I should formally close for lunch. I think that it might be a good example to set. A little break in the day for basic human & dog needs. What do you think?
